Workshop|Sustainable Dining Table Series: Get to know the happy and free chickens by the ditch
Next to the Baode Palace in Fanzicuo, Beitou, the Shuimokeng River now looks like a big ditch. It is called “Fanzaigou”. I often hear the elders from the Baode Palace talk about how clear the stream is in their memories. He did laundry, irrigated farm work, and often jumped into swimming in the summer. He playfully picked up the land parcel on the god’s table and put it into the stream to play with water. Fanzigou is the memory of local children. Their lives are closely connected with the stream. This is a feeling that children growing up in cities today rarely experience.
This workshop is based at Sui Yejia next to Fanzi Valley, bringing environmental experience and handicrafts to the public, opening up the connection between people and the land bit by bit. With these origins, we invited the Suiye family located behind Baode Palace. One of the people in charge was the second-generation young man named Lin who was the stove owner of Baode Palace at that time. They are environmentally friendly and raise animals in non-cage feeding methods. We sell chickens and eggs, and also sell environmentally friendly crops for friendly farmers, and organize various farming experience activities, such as guiding children to interact with and feed hens, teaching them to understand the eggs they eat every day, and bringing an environment that respects life. educate.
